DESCRIPTION

A mild specialty coffee with a full body and delicate acidity.

Costa Rica Jaguar Honey SHB is produced by several smallholder farmers in Tarrazú, in the province of San José. The region is considered one of Costa Rica’s most important coffee-growing areas. This 100% Arabica coffee is grown at elevations ranging from 1,600 to 1,900 metres above sea level.

With an SCA score of 85, Jaguar Honey SHB stands out for its exceptional quality and beautifully balanced flavour profile.

The coffee is processed at Beneficio San Diego, one of Costa Rica’s largest and most modern coffee mills. As its name suggests, Jaguar Honey SHB is prepared using the honey process. No actual honey is involved: the skin of the coffee cherry is removed, while part of the sweet fruit layer, known as mucilage, remains on the bean during drying.

Compared with washed processing, this method requires significantly less water. The result is a naturally sweet coffee with mild, balanced acidity and a flavour profile that falls between naturally processed and washed coffees.
