We purchase the selected specialty green coffee varieties from our dealers in Hamburg and Bremen. In close coordination with you, we continually look for new varieties worldwide and pay attention to sustainable cultivation and the best quality.​

The heart of our coffee roasting plant is our Probat roaster from 1994. Since we opened, coffee has been refined by hand in front of our guests at this roaster in the heart of our café in Kreuzberg. Very traditional, like in the old days in the gas-powered drum roaster. Roasting is a combination of craftsmanship, sensory and feeling - all senses are involved.​

Through test roasting we determine which color, roasting time and temperature is optimal for the respective variety and how we can get the best out of the individual bean: because each individual bean is about the numerous aromas and flavors.

In its raw state, you can only imagine what is hidden in each variety. The individual character and the most wonderful properties become apparent after roasting. How well this is teased out depends on the skill of our roasting master, because a few seconds determine the perfect enjoyment in the cup.​

Whether as whole beans or, if desired, individually ground for espresso machines, stove cookers, hand filters, coffee machines or stamp pots - we adapt entirely to your preferences. And if you would like to try out a new variety or are simply not sure yet: ask our team for a sample.​
